Playful performances and passionate learning.

October 11, 2019

This week, we all proudly performed our LAMDA poem ‘Did you ever play tag with a tiger?’ , some of us were so brave that we presented in front of everyone during assembly.

In English we have been busy exploring feelings and stepping in the shoes of Howard Carter when he discovered Tutankhamun’s tomb. To do this we learned about possessive apostrophes, here is a sheet if you want more practice. Possessive apostrophe.

Next week we will be reviewing the KS1 list of spellings so come prepared.

Topic has seen us learning all about the process of mummification. We realised just how complex the process really was!

In Maths we are looking at different representations of 3-digit numbers numbers and trying to understand how we can apply our place value knowledge to the four operations.

W5 Missing numbers L2

W5 Number Lines L3

This term we have been developing our gymnastic skills and practising group routines.

This week we all challenged our thinking with a science quiz for the Inquiring Science project.  We will be working on our dialogue and collaborative learning skills in science and P4C so watch out for more information about this.

We are noticing that some children are still bringing toys out in class and at playtime. Can you please help us to reinforce that toys are not allowed in school as this will not benefit their learning and that if they lose anything we can’t be responsible for it.

We have decided with the children that after half-term they will be able to use cards on a Friday break or lunchtime. If this is to be successful we will consider extending it to other days of the week.

Next week:

On Wednesday 16th we will be doing some Diwali linked activities.

Family Friday on Friday 18th 8.30-9.00 AM.
