We started our new topic Survival with a powerful story: The Journey by Francesca Sanna. Throughout the week, we have immersed ourselves in the story by considering the refugees’ journey and trying to understand what feelings they might experience.
In maths we are reviewing bridging through 10 to help us develop mental strategies for addition.
We have lots of exciting challenges to explore in our new learning street. These will help us to develop our thinking and survival practical skills.
In our philosophy session we explored the meaning of freedom and some of us creatively expressed our understanding of this concept.
- Shakespeare week: we will be exploring the Tempest through active storytelling and lots of creative activities. We can’t wait!
- We will be starting forest school. You have all received the forest school booklet outlining the main information. Please can we emphasise the importance of having the right clothing, this should be labelled and ok to get wet and muddy. Unfortunately, children without appropriate clothing will not be able to take part in the session.FOREST SCHOOL booklet (002)
- Please can you remind the children to hand in their reading records on Monday as some children are forgetting this. We are limited on time for changing the books so it is vital that they are handed in.
